Amazonite - Colorado
Pegmatites of the Pikes Peak batholith have produced some of the finest Amazonite specimens ever discovered and this piece, from Lake George, is no exception. This cabinet-sized specimen is most notable for its choice form, white-cap & intense, saturated colors. The color is actually variegated, ranging from a typical and desired blue to areas that are green/brown. This is an interesting and attractive variation that isn't all that common. The white-cap is just the cherry on top of an already incredible specimen. Undoubtedly an old-timer, this is a classic Amazonite specimen from one of the most storied and well-known districts in Colorado.
