Fluorite, Pyrite - Connecticut
This cute thumbnail-sized specimen features dark purple fluorite & pyrite perched upon a bed of druzy quartz. It was mined by Jeremy Zolan (Zolan Mining) in New Haven, Connecticut around 2018. The fluorite has a stepped, botryoidal-like form and its dark purple coloration lends to an eye-catching contrast against the white bed of quartz. The pyrite cubes are very sharp and are a welcome addition to this neat combination of Connecticut minerals.
